Manager Accounting

Under the direction of the Assistant Controller the Senior Accounting Manager along with the rest of the accounting managers, leads the coordination of the financial close schedule, monthly account reconciliation and analysis, preparations, technical GAAP research and external monitoring oversight. This position will participate in the improvement, development, implementation, and monitoring of accounting policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of Federal OMB regulations and US GAAP, and be a natural numbers wizard.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for preparation and review of transactional information and schedules for; annual audits, Form 990 information returns, For-Profit entities income tax returns, census reports, sales and use tax, and financial statements as well as other Agency reporting requirements
• Responsible for verifying TIN, taxpayer name and address with IRS records and review of database transactions prior to submission to outside vendor for processing IRS Forms1099
• Responsible for tenant rents, NCI’s For-Profit entity’s transactions, and oversight of fixed assets and Federal fixed assets
• Maintain the current facility square footage / cost allocations; assist in the development of the new facility square footage / cost allocation methodology
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
• Responsible for enforcing adherence to GAAP and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements; advising management on needed actions
• Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential
• Recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations
• Troubleshoot problems that may arise, and communicate with appropriate personnel
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks

Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field

Experience

Required

5 years: 5-8 years related experience and/or training , or equivalent combination of education and experience
