What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift - Industrial Refrigeration Technician - 6am to 3pm* - $38+ per hour position at Baldinger Bakeries KS LLC?
The Ammonia Refrigeration Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of ammonia refrigeration and HVAC utility equipment/systems, and other facility equipment. Also, this position is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on the production and company facilities. * Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6PM-6AM. * Must be flexible for overtime and will perform weekend work * Schedule for position is Saturday - Wednesday Duties and Responsibilities: Maintaining and servicing ammonia refrigeration systems and related utility equipment as well as being able to maintain all necessary paperwork associated with the Process Safety Management program. Has a very good understanding of and no physical problems with NH3 (Ammonia) Has a good working knowledge of two-stage industrial ammonia system. Daily chemical testing of condenser cooling water and logging all test results, making adjustments required to maintain cooling water. Safe and efficient operation of refrigeration system. Performs ammonia systems established preventative maintenance and identifies new PM activities, as needed. Repair of ammonia systems-related equipment. Analyze and solve electro/mechanical problems related to the ammonia System. Comply with plant regulatory programs such as PSM and Risk Management Program (RMP). Will spend extended periods of time in a cold and wet, as low as -40F degree temperature environment. Perform some duties in a confined space. Work at high evolutions on ladders or mechanical lifts. Effectively complete preventative and predictive maintenance per weekly schedule to prevent breakdowns on equipment. Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments. Proficient in the operation of all plant equipment to better troubleshoot and maintain as required. Communicate with team leaders and production associates regarding critical findings during routine inspections. Proficient in using CMMS (Computerized maintenance management system) to record all maintenance activities daily. Proficient in welding and metal fabrication to include proper use of machine shop equipment. Proficient in understanding and troubleshooting hydraulics and pneumatics circuits and systems. Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems such as gearboxes, bearing, seals, clutch & brakes, etc. Proficient in troubleshooting 230/480 motor control circuits in a manufacturing environment, utilizing multi-meter and other test equipment. Must have experience in troubleshooting and replacing VF Drives and other motor control devices. Must have experience in troubleshooting PLCs, understanding components and logic. Proficient in utilizing line drawings and schematics to troubleshoot equipment. Ensuring daily adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Regulations. Minimum Job Requirements: Education/Certifications: Preferred to have at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Abilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively train others Must be able to read work documents in English Strong focus on safety Good understanding of plant quality requirements Good working knowledge of GMP’s Must be able to adhere to the attendance policy Strong team orientation Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Work involves daily exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise The work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards Regular exposure to food products and food allergens Position requires the ability to stand; walking around the office and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity, and reaching; kneeling, crawling, and twisting to inspect equipment.
