Position Summary :
T he Business Valuation Analyst will be responsible for conducting comprehensive valuations of privately held businesses. This role involves analyzing business operations, financial statements, market conditions, and industry trends to provide accurate and insightful valuation reports. The analyst will perform a variety of valuation types, including but not limited to :
Formal credentialed valuations for estate planning, gift and stock transfers, Federal estate tax reporting, equity compensation plans, ESOPs, etc.Non-credentialed strategic analysis and calculation reports for sale and business combination planning, succession and shareholder planning, shareholder buyout and dispute resolution, and general management planning.The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Prepare comprehensive valuation reports and presentations for clients and stakeholdersConduct detailed financial analysis and modeling to determine the value of privately held businesses and assetsAnalyze market data, industry trends, and economic conditions to support valuation conclusionsCollaborate with BCCF management and personnel to develop and refine valuation methodologies, systems and processes.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of valuation standards, regulations, and best practices.Participate in client meetings and presentations to facilitate engagement deliverables and to explain valuation findings and methodologiesSupport business development efforts by preparing proposals and participating in client pitchesAssist with research, preparation and analytics to support BCCF M&A advisory servicesMaintain compliance with applicable valuation certificationsRequired Skills and Abilities :
Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.Knowledge of various valuation approaches (income, market, and asset-based).Familiarity with industry-specific valuation issues and trends.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skillsStrong written, listening and verbal communication skillsStrong knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint programsFamiliarity with collaborative communication software, such as MS Teams and ZoomExperience with valuation software and databases (e.g., Capital IQ, BVR)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamHigh attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and attention to detailExcellent time managementEffective sales, presentation and customer service skillsProfessional attitude and demeanorAbility to multitask in a fast paced, client-oriented environmentMarketing / Networking :
Participation and support with lead generation activitiesRecruit and solicit clients and engagement opportunitiesEducation and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.Professional appraisal certification required (ASA or CVA)3 - 5 years’ experience in financial servicesWorking Conditions :
Office environment with occasional travel to client sites.Hybrid work from home consideredAbility to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Physical Requirements :
