SUMMARY
We are looking for a full-time seasonal/temporary Driver (with possibility to become permanent) to complete pick-ups and deliveries of new and repaired equipment to customer locations by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete pickups, deliveries and transfers between stores or customers new or repaired equipment and stock from warehouses
- Follow company driving policy at all times
- Monitor vehicle performance, maintenance, and cleanliness
- Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load and unload equipment and ensure loads are secure during transport
- Contacts all customer delivery or pickups prior to time of arrival
- Ensures all equipment delivered and transported is accurately identified and maintained
- Provides basic operating instructions to customers on delivered equipment and ensures customer understands all safety features of delivered equipment
- Reports any safety or driving concerns or incidents to General Manager
- Confirms all repaired equipment being delivered has been repaired properly and notifies management of any issues
Qualifications and Competencies:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to two years of experience as a Driver.
- Must have a chauffeur’s license.
- A current DOT is preferred or must be able to obtain a DOT medical certification.
- Basic math and computer skills are required.
- Prioritize safety on the road and with all loading and unloading of equipment.
- Ability to work independently with light supervision, in an efficient manner.
- Good attention to detail with a commitment to quality work.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds regularly, push rolling stock, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Saturday availability to work is required.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include those required by DOT.
Work Environment
The work environment is the delivery vehicle, customer locations, and warehouse locations working near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment will occasionally be loud. There could be fumes or airborne particles at times. Required to assist with loading and removing equipment from vehicles and in so doing be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Work Schedule
This a full-time temporary/seasonal position with the possibility of becoming a full-time permanent position, requiring varying shifts Monday through Saturday to cover business operations. Weekend hours and holiday hours may be required. Work week hours will vary between 40-60 hours during the Spring and Summer peak season. This position is hourly and is eligible for overtime after 40 hours worked per week.
Pay Range: $16/hourly based on experience
