Maintenance Technician
Schedule: Flexible PT schedules available.
First Shift, 8am – 2pm
Second Shift, 5pm – 11pm
Expected hours: Approximately 25 hours/week
Pay: $23/hour

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Your Role:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain various systems and equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to ensuring optimal operational efficiency within our busy facility. The successful Maintenance Technician keeps BACC’s facility in outstanding condition year-round to best support youth, staff and guests. You bring your knowledge of facility maintenance, janitorial practices, attention to detail, a can-do attitude and a smile and you will find a rewarding role supporting Ballston area families and youth. The Maintenance Technician provides facility services in a friendly, swift, and responsible manner.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- A working knowledge of plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC and carpentry.
- Ability to clean and perform janitorial duties effectively
- Able to work in extremes of weather and outside of regular business hours, as needed.
- Experience working in a school or childcare environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Must be able to work on ladders, lifts and scaffolds.
- Able to stand, walk, kneel for extended periods of times.
- Able to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear interaction with team members.
- A commitment to safety practices in all maintenance activities.
Duties:
- Responsible for building and grounds maintenance year-round.
- Perform minor repairs and installations
- Removes snow and applies ice melt to all sidewalks and exit areas
- Able to perform pre-inspections and preventative maintenance on facility systems and components
- Assist other trades onsite as needed.
- Follows safe work procedures and wear all necessary personal protective equipment.
- Helps to ensure our facility compliant with all Federal, State and Local laws and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Cleans and disinfects common areas and high touch surfaces including bathrooms, classrooms, kitchen, water fountain, offices, gym, and community room daily.
- Able to establish and follow schedules for cleaning and maintenance.
- Cleans floors in common areas.
- Cleans woodwork, high dust areas, and behind/under furniture monthly or as needed.
- Performs trash collection duties.
