What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Marketing position at Ballyhoo Hospitality?
The Marketing Director is responsible for creating and executing marketing and
communication content to drive revenue and brand awareness across platforms
including grassroots, social media, email and website mediums.
This position will be responsible for managing and team and projects across various
mediums for the developing portfolio of restaurants. The successful candidate will be an
excellent communicator, a versatile creative writer, and a team player. The Marketing
Director will actively participate in data analyses to consistently improve the company’s
communication practices over time.
As a Marketing Director, you will oversee and support the marketing team in various
activities such as task management, market research, social media management,
website maintenance, event planning, and creating marketing materials. You will also
assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns, analyze marketing
data, and contribute to the overall success of the marketing department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Develop and implement marketing content to be shared on various platforms that is
consistent with the company’s brand identity and each restaurant identity. Refreshing
the brand identity where needed and developing exciting new content to drive ROI.
● Support with development, sharing, and consistent execution of best practices with
restaurant teams.
● Champion and manage customer insights. Ensure insight-driven action plans are in
place to respond to customer review platforms in brand voice timely.
● Manage the development and implementation of social media platforms and
calendars with an effective number of postings, likes, shares, etc. across the most
pertinent and applicable sites. Provide training to staff wherever necessary to maximize
effective and appropriate social media postings.
● Coordinate with and work closely with the Director of Community Relations on content
creation and strategies. Creating consistent, meaningful content on all media platforms,
including writing and editing content, improving customer engagement, and promoting
rest.
● Coordinate the development and organization of content including:
- Strong eye for photography, capturing content for social campaigns, eblasts,
advertisements and marketing collateral
- Schedule photo shoots to capture new content at all Ballyhoo Restaurants
- Attend offsite and special events to capture content and post in real time.
- Performing monthly audits to ensure the ROI
- Responsible for project management and project tracking
● Manage a high volume of daily social media posts and engagement including:
- Communicating with social media followers, including responding to queries in a
timely manner. Manage the DMs, sharing tagged content and responding to all
messages
- Developing and managing social influencer programs and attending social
influencer events
- Using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, social media scheduling
platforms, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company’s social
media presence and performance
- Staying up to date on best practices and emerging trends in marketing
- Managing campaigns
● Facilitate the collection of insights and analytics including:
- Preparing monthly reports on marketing efforts
- Suggesting recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for
optimal results
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
● Hospitality Industry experience required.
●5 or more years of comprehensive communication and marketing experience,
preferably in the hospitality industry, or agency setting, with social media experience
including planning and managing content.
● Experience and working knowledge in a wide range of digital marketing, email, social
media, direct mail, public relations, CRM, SEO, advertising, community outreach, and
market research strategies, tactics, and platforms.
● Must have knowledge of photography and ability to create sharp and eye catching
designs outside of the social media platforms using Canva or other design programs
such as Adobe.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment - Exercises good judgment
and is committed to excellence and operational integrity.
● Understands the value of diverse talents and perspectives and encourages diversity
of thought and ideas. Works through differences and finds a productive common ground
with others to achieve mutually beneficial results.
