What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool and Equipment Repairman position at Bancroft Contracting Corporation?
The Tool and Equipment Repairman (“TER”) is a position repairing and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools and equipment. This person is required to have a thorough knowledge of the maintenance of common hand and power tools and equipment; the ability to coordinate with employees to ensure tool and equipment requirements from field personnel are met for the continuation of onsite operations; organize and prioritize their work; organize, update, and maintain reports and records on the maintenance and repair of BCC tools and equipment; communicate with various vendors and technical support operators for tools and equipment. A working knowledge of computers, including the use of email and spreadsheets, is required.
The position requires physical work under all environmental conditions. Good physical conditioning is important to success in the position. A TER must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., as needed. Some travel will be required to meet the requirements of the South Paris maintenance shop and the needs of field personnel -- a driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required for getting to the South Paris maintenance shop. The ability to obtain a DOT medical card is required.
Regardless of prior formal training or experience, a TER must demonstrate the ability to carry out, or quickly learn, and competently execute all essential functions of the position on the job.
This position works out of BCC’s maintenance shop in South Paris, Maine, and requires the TER to live within a 75-mile radius of the South Paris location. On some occasions, the position may require travel to a jobsite.
Employment is subject to the successful completion of a pre-employment physical.
