Description
Position Purpose: Assist Special Assets Officer and become proficient in handling all aspects within the department. Collection of delinquent loans and recovery of Charge-Off Loans, Master Card and/or Checking accounts, while maintaining a positive rapport with the Borrower(s).
Document all written and verbal communications; using standard letter templates and/or creating accurate letters which cover all accounts. Respond to Direct and In-Direct disputes.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist customers with all accounts.
- Collection and Recovery of the Banks Active and Written Off accounts.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation of all written communications.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks.
- Transfer payments and/or use the Right of Set-Off as applicable.
- Research posting of payments and/or other accounts as applicable.
- Ability to deal with customers in stressful situations.
- Clerical duties.
- Verification of employment and obtaining credit reports
- Export and create reports via Microsoft Excel.
- Obtain delinquent Personal and Real Estate Taxes
- Determine and process Holds regarding HELOC/LOC.
- Become familiar with Repossession, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy and Deceased procedures.
- Contact borrowers and/or Lenders to obtain vehicle Titles.
- Become familiar with Federal & State Collection Laws, Federal Bankruptcy Laws, (FDCPA) Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, (FCRA) Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Collection differences between Consumer and Commercial loans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
