What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Analyst position at Bank of Stockton?

SUMMARY

Incumbent should be familiar with the Bank of Stockton’s Loan Systems and its’ procedures. They should also have acquired the skill necessary to read Financial Statements for the purpose of preliminary analysis and risk evaluation. And lastly they should be conversant with; spreadsheet programs, word-processing techniques and database management as it relates to report generation. This position directly impacts the performance of the commercial lending department by properly administrating financial analysis within the banks’ lending portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Key duties should be viewed as a platform to grow and mature. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Primary function will be to assist in preparing business and personal financial spreads.

Input of financial information (financial statements, tax returns) into Sageworks software.

Training will be provided.

  • Work with various software programs and internal forms to assist in processing Financial Analysis Requests.
  • Work as back up to the A/R Specialist
  • Participate in analysis/software training and continuing education as required by Manger.
  • Assist in the Sageworks platform set up and problem resolution when necessary.
  • Assist in projects as requested by department manager.

SECONDARY DUTIES

The position of Credit Analyst performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

The employee must be able to take and pass all the required regulatory training as outlined by the Bank on a quarterly basis.

This employee must adhere to all security related procedures of the Bank including Branch security, protection of customer information and security as it relates to the Bank's internet and technology systems.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position is not responsible for the supervision of any employees within the branch.

ENVIROMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The Credit Analyst is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc,

This employee in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting up to 15 pounds, carrying, sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

This employee for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), check protector, encoder, money counter, typewriter, computer terminal, personal computer and related printers.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Employee must be able demonstrate their ability to read documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, language, presentations, verbal and written communications, analytical reasoning, multiple concurrent tasks and frequent interruptions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and /or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual’s abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

· Basic knowledge of Balance Sheet & Profit and Loss/Tax Returns, Credit Reports and its impact on credit quality

· Strong PC skills (word-processor, spreadsheets and database management)

· Willingness to learn the Sageworks commercial platform

· Effective oral and written communication skills

· Good interpersonal skills
