What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Banknote Corp of America?
1st shift Monday - Thursday 6 am-4 pm with overtime as required
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT:
Assists Finishing Machine operators and Finishing Associates with movement of material within department, between department and warehouse, and between departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS OF THE POSITION:
- Waste Disposal, Recycling, Shredding, and upkeep of the buildings perimeter.
- Uses manual material handling equipment including pallet jacks, scissor jacks and rolling carts
- Lifts material into place for processing or packaging
- Removes completed work and palletizes for shipment or storage (or transport work for further processing)
- Performs general clean-up, sweeping, put away excess or unused materials, etc.
- Cross-train to feed and operate minor packaging equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of basic math including weights, measures, fractions, and decimals
- Good visual acuity and color vision
- Ability to walk, stand or bend for 8-12 hours
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work on any shift (day or night/8, 10 or 12 hour shifts)
- Must be able to adhere to stringent security and safety rules and pass a drug screen and
criminal background check
