Job Summary
Event staff play a critical role in ensuring an efficient operation of events. The primary duties of an event staff worker include helping guests navigate the venue, working beer gardens, ticket scanning, ushering, concessions, and other duties required by the venue. Event staff can work a number of positions in a given event. The goal of the event staff is always to keep an event streamlined and functioning well. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with others and has strong interpersonal skills. In addition to job roles, event staff will likely be on their feet for the duration of an event and need a certain level of energy and enthusiasm to succeed.
Primary Function
This position will require working non-traditional hours in the support of the public and events taking place such as nights and weekends. An event staff employee will be supervised by an Event Manager/ Food and Beverage Manager who will assign roles and other duties required by the venue. Heavy emphasis will be placed on creating and maintaining a customer facing atmosphere in all areas of business, while maintaining a focus on the best interests of the facilities, the public, and the elected officials we serve. Creating and maintaining a positive culture among associated staff will be critical in the success of this position. A professional and friendly demeanor is expected while working with internal and external clients. Event staff will have direct responsibility for or may be required to assist in the training of seasonal volunteer staff.
This position entails working directly with the public daily, requiring professional and courteous exchanges with both internal and external clients. During the busy summer months, additional responsibility of scheduling and direct supervision of seasonal, or other temporary employees. The job requires the ability to maintain a collaborative and cooperative working relationship with elected and appointed officials, other County employees, other organizations, and the general public. The work environment includes duties in or around equestrian facilities, and parks and recreation areas. Duties will require outdoor work with outdoor weather conditions including extreme temperatures.

- Setting up necessary chairs
- Being responsible for facilitating seating organization as an usher
- Effectively operating cash register systems and cash handling
- Being assigned various tasks by the event manager/food and beverage manager
- Facilitating the proper organization and cleanliness of venues
- Upholding any necessary safety precautions
- Providing high levels of customer service
- Welcoming guests to the venue, ceiling and receiving tickets
- Bartending
- Cooking and serving food to attendees at the concession stand
- Providing relevant information to event attendees
- Checking equipment into an inventory system and inspecting for potential damage
- Aiding in cleaning up after the event
