Position Details: 

• Schedule: Full-time, hours between 6am-7pm; schedule to be further discussed.
• Location: On-site presence required in Gilman, IL.

 Essential Functions:

• Works in collaboration with the Food Services or Dietary Manager to help with the development of menus and ordering of food.
• Maintains cleanliness of dining room, kitchen, and equipment, ensuring proper shutdown and opening of kitchen and compliance with national, local, and sanitary standards.
• Discards waste properly and manages storage of perishables to avoid food spoilage and waste in accordance with sanitary standards.
• Requisitions food, supplies, and equipment, and inspects and tastes food for quality.
• Inspects and supervises the serving of food, ensuring quality, quantity, and appetizing appearance of meals.
• Ensures preparation and handling of food comply with sanitary regulations, administrative policies, budgetary requirements, and meal schedules.
• Prepares ingredients for cooking, uses cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware proficiently, and applies various cooking procedures and methods.
• Understands cross-contamination prevention and follows proper dishwashing procedures.
• Ensures proper cleanliness and care of kitchen equipment after each use.
• Complies with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  
  

Preference:

• 1 year of work experience as a Cook or related.

Qualifications:

• Experience in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, and food preparation. 

Abilities:

• Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
• Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, Observation & Written skills.
• Adheres to: Healthcare Code of Ethics.
• Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding:
