Overview
The Contract Analyst I position is responsible for administration of the contracts process impacting daily operations within BHC, according to established contract management and related policy and procedure. The Contract Analyst I serves as a liaison between BHC department leaders and internal and external contracting groups (Group Purchasing Organization, Materials Management, and the contracting arm within Governance, Risk & Compliance) as a resource for coordinating and facilitating contract review. The Contract Analyst I position will assist with administration, review, and negotiation related to BHC’s primary supply, service, and capital contracts. This position ensures contractual pricing is documented within the data tools that help manage pricing. The systems include the contract management application, the materials management information system, the GPO designated contracting catalogue, the GPO designated strategic information data warehouse, and price various pricing comparison tools. The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, may work remotely, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in Legal Studies, Business or Accounting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Must have excellent financial, analytical and negotiation skills, and well-developed professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed problem solving skills.
- Strategic focus with the ability to tactically execute. Proficient Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Ability to operate a computer and use application software and perform research in the areas of contracting, medical products, equipment, and services.
- Ability to handle several tasks at once, function well as a team-player, use discretion in handling confidential material, and work with little supervision.
