Position Summary
Manages the supply activities of the assigned functional area. Controls specialized inventories and coordinates vendor activity.
Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Some College
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 to 3 years materials management experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: In perioperative environment or hospital Central Services/Materials Management
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: NA
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Credentialed as a Certified Central Services/Materials Management Technician
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): NA
General Functions:
Performs duties as Team Leader
Coordinates the day-to-day functions of area by:
o Setting goals for the area
o Participating in problem solving
o Managing department resources:
Ensures proper use of supplies and equipment
Acts as a liaison between team and customers
Maintains physical inventory fur supplies by updating part levels, managing stock-outs and utilizing report tools
Controls special supply and implant inventories
Interfaces with vendors to ensure provision of specialized products, services and compliance with BHS Vendor Guidelines
Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
Maintains safe environment
Participates in Performance Improvement activities
