Technician

Founded in 1945, Barfield has six facilities located near airports in Miami (MIA), Phoenix (PHX), Louisville (SDF), Atlanta (ATL), Doral 1 (MIA) and Doral 2 (MIA), to satisfy the needs of customers operating commercial or regional aircraft in North, Central and South America. Barfield is part of the Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) network, a major MRO provider. With a workforce of 14,000, AFI KLM E&M offers technical support for airlines, ranging from airframe maintenance to engine overhaul and repair and supply of components.

Position: TECHNICIAN

Department: Operations, Shop 10

Report to: Manufacturing Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Test and repair electronic, mechanical and electro mechanical components.
• Test and repair digital air data, digital pitot static tester set.
• Should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobs.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of tasks. A certain degree of initiative is expected. Has immediate supervision and typically reports to the lead person, supervisor or manager.

Required Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:

• High School diploma or its equivalent
• 2 years of experience in the field or related area.
• Must possess the ability to follow written instructions from technical manuals and other documents.
• Must train to work towards the ability to troubleshoot, calibrate and repair units, using schematics diagrams, and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), and other documents with further training.
• Must train and work on ability to solder and desolder electronic components (surface mounted) while working to be proficient, and has good understanding about ESD.
• Must train and gain knowledge and experience with basic electronic and Advance testing equipment. (Voltmeters, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Spectrum analyzer, etc.).Proficient in using ATE equipment.
• Need experienced technician with knowledge of mechanisms and electric circuitry on Gyroscope horizon instruments.
