What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wedding and Special Events Manager position at Barnsley Resort?
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of weddings and special events, from initial inquiry to event execution
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and budget
- Conduct site visits and provide guidance on event setup, decor, and design
- Create detailed event timelines and manage event budgets
- Coordinate with various departments (catering, banquet, audiovisual, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of events
- Oversee event setup, including seating arrangements, decor, and audiovisual requirements
- Supervise event staff and external vendors to ensure exceptional service and adherence to event timelines
- Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the planning process and on the event day
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in wedding and special events planning and execution
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity and a keen eye for design and aesthetics
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
