POSITION DESCRIPTION
Barrington Hills Country Club is looking to add an energetic, hands-on self-starter, team player to our team! The Aquatics
Director provides a vital role in the overall enjoyment of the club. He/she is to be a self-motivated, professional, “service-minded” individual. Keeping the pool safe, enjoyable, and worry-free is of the utmost importance. The ultimate goal for this position is to play a strong role in elevating BHCC to the next level by providing an exceptional pool experience to our membership. This position reports to the Clubhouse Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of supervisory experience, 2-3 years experience in pool operation aquatics
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a humid, warm environment and be immersed in water for extended periods of time
  • Position sometimes requires the ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs and up to 100 lbs
  • Demonstrated ability to share knowledge with others
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • County Pool Operator Certificate, YMCA/Red Cross/Ellis Lifeguard certified, American Heart Association/Red Cross

CPR, Red Cross Standard First Aid, WSI Certified

Responsibilities

  • The Aquatics Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient management of aquatic operations and programs, maintenance and upkeep of the swimming pool facility, and supervision of all aquatics staff
  • Ensure that the pool facility is a safe environment at all times by conducting in-service trainings
  • Hire, supervise, and develop all pool personnel to ensure staff is well trained thereby creating a safe environment
  • Develop, implement, and monitor programming and schedules for pool operation
  • Clearly describe and assign responsibility to all staff to properly operate the pool facility
  • Ensure all lifeguard certifications are current
  • Direct the implementation of department policies and procedures
  • Develop detailed, realistic, and comprehensive plans that support organizational objectives
  • Communicate effectively with members, staff and management, using tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflict
  • Perform supervisory tasks of a team, including resolving conflict, coaching and developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management

Responsible for ensuring continued progress is being made for all swimmers as they work to achieve their swimming goals * Ensure swim lessons are being taught in a safe manner that supports our value of fun, results-driven lessons

  • Communicates regularly with parents about their swimmer's progress and celebrates each child's achievements
  • Clean and sanitize swimming pool (includes cleaning pool & backwash filers, skimming pool surfaces, and checking that chemicals in pool are at ideal levels)
  • Ensure that all equipment (i.e. railings, ropes, pumps, etc.) are in good working order, and provide repair/replacement as needed
  • Procure chemicals, equipment, and supplies as needed
  • Oversee all programs created for the aquatics department
  • Administer swim lesson program and/or swim team program as defined by specific club organization

Salary : $38,700 - $49,000
