We are seeking a visionary Part-Time Education Program Manager to launch and lead a dynamic new education program. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with experience in curriculum development, arts education, and deep connections to the film and media industry.
The Education Program Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing BFC’s inaugural film education program, including curriculum creation, instructor recruitment, pricing and scheduling, and coordination of workshops and field trips. The role will work closely with the marketing, production, theater, and technical teams to execute workshops from start to finish. Initial offerings will focus on low-barrier courses like acting, screenwriting, and storytelling, with room to grow into technical filmmaking and industry workforce training.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Design & Strategy
- Analyze target audiences and educational needs.
- Create course structure: Topics, format (workshop, seminar, panel), duration, and level.
- Develop pricing models, schedules, and enrollment targets.
Curriculum & Instruction
- Create or source content across disciplines: acting, screenwriting, storytelling, editing, etc.
- Ensure programs are age-appropriate, inclusive, and engaging.
- Hire and coordinate instructors, guest speakers, and teaching artists.
- Design field trip programs and coordinate their launch.
- Deliver instruction when appropriate.
Operations & Administration
- Set up courses in BFC’s system (e.g., online registration, internal calendars).
- Coordinate classroom space, materials, and tech requirements.
- Manage instructor contracts and workshop logistics.
Promotion & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with PR and Marketing to promote classes.
- Develop partnerships with local schools, colleges, and after-school programs.
- Represent BFC at events and open houses.
Evaluation & Growth
- Collect feedback from students and instructors to improve future offerings.
- Support grant reporting and budget tracking.
- Strategize expansion opportunities and second-year scaling.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in education, film/media, arts administration, or related field.
- Experience developing or managing educational programs (preferably in film, media, or performing arts).
- Background in curriculum design, youth or adult learning, in an educational or creative setting.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
Preferred:
- Background in theater, film production, or related fields.
- Familiarity with the film industry and connections to talent (teachers, filmmakers, guest speakers).
- Experience with community or nonprofit organizations.
- Understanding of workforce development in creative industries.
Bonus If You Have:
- Fluency in video editing or production tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut).
- Experience working with youth, special abilities programs, or underserved communities.
- Connections to regional film/TV professionals in NJ/NY.
