Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Family Practice Physician for a 52-day locum tenens position at a correctional facility in Arizona.
The assignment begins with a flexible schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Duties include formulating diagnoses, developing and implementing treatment plans, evaluating patients, and performing basic procedures such as suturing and incision and drainage.
This opportunity offers a chance to work in a unique correctional healthcare setting, utilizing the TechCare EMR system. The position also offers the possibility of assignment extension.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect medical care to inmates
- Handle a variety of cases ranging from minor complaints to more complex issues
- Formulate working diagnoses and develop treatment plans
- Perform basic procedures such as suturing and incision and drainage
- Evaluate and modify therapeutic regimens as needed
- Assess patients returning for follow-up care
- Utilize TechCare EMR system for documentation
- Collaborate with correctional staff and other healthcare professionals
- Adhere to correctional facility protocols and safety standards
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in correctional healthcare
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and professionalism in a correctional setting
Requirements:
- Arizona state medical license required
- Experience in family practice or urgent care settings essential
- Familiarity with correctional healthcare preferred
- Comfort with basic procedures and urgent care scenarios
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
