Overview
The Minister of Music is responsible for leading and developing Barton’s Creek Baptist Church's music ministry in a way that honors Christ and supports the church's overall mission. This role includes planning and leading worship services, overseeing choirs and special music, and fostering spiritual growth through music. This part-time position focuses on using God-given gifts and talents to engage the congregation and community in meaningful worship.
Primary Responsibilities
· Lead and direct congregational singing in all worship services.
· Collaborate with the Pastor to plan and evaluate worship services, choosing music that
aligns with the message and season.
· Oversee and schedule all music ministry participants, including choirs, soloists, and
instrumentalists.
· Organize and prepare seasonal musical presentations such as Christmas and Easter
cantatas.
· Recruit and involve church members in the music ministry, encouraging them to use
their musical talents for God’s glory.
· Maintain the church’s music library and oversee the purchase of music materials within
the church’s budget.
· Communicate and coordinate weekly with musicians, volunteers, and staff to ensure
smooth and effective worship services.
· Serve as an active member of the Church, contributing to the overall vision and mission
of the church.
Qualifications
· A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
· Experience in church music ministry, including leading congregational worship and
directing choirs.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· A heart for service, teamwork, and the spiritual development of others through
worship.
Job Type: Part-time
