What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Electrical Estimator position at Barts Electric?
We have an opening for an Estimator to join our pre-construction team in the Kansas City, MO area.

Position Responsibilities
Analyzes bid proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for specific products, projects and or services.
Duties Include
Reviews and analyzes data submissions to determine material and labor requirements for bid proposals.
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used by company for purposes of planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.
Manages centralized cost estimating database system to support cost estimating process.
Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Authorizes changes or revisions to bidding process.
Provides technical advice and assistance during pass-over and budgeting process.
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determine the reasons for any discrepancies.
Researches and identifies cost trends to identify areas for improvement.
Oversees initial budgeting process of projects.
Establishes project phase codes and provides consultation to accounting department for data entry.
Position Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma. Degree in Electrical Engineering Construction Management or related field is preferred. Strong computer, detail and organizational skills. Some experience with design/build services and plan/spec estimating a plus.
