We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for Site Controlling at the Seneca production site. This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your knowledge of BASF policies and procedures, your general understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS, and internal control techniques. You will also share your advanced problem solving and analytical abilities, as well as your advanced knowledge of relevant SAP modules, MS Office, and basic skills in PowerBI.
As a Site Controller, You Create Chemistry By...
- Taking over responsibility from day one for month-end closing, reporting, budgeting and forecasting tasks for the site and assigned warehouses/tollers for cost, CapEx and optimization projects.
- Relying on your knowledge of accounting and inventory control methods, you will interpret, direct and ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and procedures. This includes ensuring that adequate internal controls are maintained so that inventories, M&E and other company assets are protected during all phases of plant operations. Additionally, you will support site physical inventory to ensure proper controls and execution and support BASF financials reviews for both internal and external auditors.
- Your effective written & verbal communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills will serve you well as you act as a business partner for the operations team at the site and drive target achievement of the major financial KPIs. Therefore, you will initiate own projects or support global activities from the BU at your site.
- Being responsible for all general and cost accounting which includes systems and procedures to ensure accurateand timely financial reporting. You will collaborate with Corporate Accounting to ensure understanding/awareness of business activities and associated financial statement impacts.
- Using your ability to develop, analyze, interpret and communicate financial information, you will be responsible for all general and cost accounting which includes systems and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Applying your business acumen to drive and support an environment of continuous improvement, you will champion new ideas especially regarding digitalization and foster a team environment.
- Precious Metal Accounting: A Precious Metal Accountant taking care of all financial metal movements at the site is reporting to the Site Controlling position.
If you...
- Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance, and > 5 years of experience in business accounting, Controlling or auditing at a site and corporate level.
- Are knowledgeable of management accounting and inventory control methods.
- Have ability to develop, analyze, interpret and communicate financial information.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and management (to include oral and written presentations).
- In-depth SAP experience
- Experience related to the precious metal industry and precious metals accounting as well as leadership experience is regarded a plus.
