Job Summary:
Under general supervision by the Team Leader and working in close support of the RN staff, provides indirect patient care and assistance during surgery as assigned. Participates in maintaining equipment, supplies, and unit environment. Transports patients within the hospital complex; transports specimens, equipment and supplies as assigned. Expedites room turn over and first case starts.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience: Previous experience in a health-related position or as a nursing assistant preferred.Licensure/Certificates: None. Certification in BLS preferred.Skills: Excellent eye/hand coordination, well developed organizing skills, ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.Physical Requirements: Requires lengthy periods standing in one position, walking, lifting and positioning patients, lifting up to 50 lbs. of instrument trays and equipment. Exposure to body fluids, infectious diseases, chemicals, instruments, and radiation. Must be capable of using all safety measures for self, patients and other staff.
