What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Lab Scientist PRN (as needed) position at Bates County Memorial Hospital?
Position Summary - Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory, Lead Tech , other Medical Laboratory Scientists, and Medical Laboratory Technician-II the Medical Laboratory Scientist performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing. Collects, identifies, and distributes patient specimens in accordance with workload requirements. Performs routine technical, clerical, and cleaning tasks within the laboratory. Performs point of care testing and other technical procedures related to patient care as part of a multi-skilled effort. Performs analysis requiring complex network of steps and variables, troubleshoots problems with equipment and procedures. Confirms and verifies laboratory results utilizing knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments. Performs quality assurance and quality control as assigned.
Hours and Schedule: As needed.
Day Shifts: Usually, twelve-hour shifts 0600-1830 or 0700-1930 on weekdays and/or 0630-1830 on weekends.
Night Shifts: Usually, 1830-0630.
