Title: Histologist
- Facility: Winter Haven Hospital
- Location: Winter Haven, FL
- Status: Full time
- Shift Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Weekend Work: Occasional
- On Call: No
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all phases of tissue processing from fixation to final slide including special stains and techniques
- Maintains all files, records, and documentation required by state and federal licensing boards
- Cleans and maintains equipment and instruments
- Stocks and maintains supplies
- Must possess interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrates organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills
- Works both independently and with a team
- Possess computer skills appropriate to position
- Uses and understands medical terminology
- Performs other duties as assigned
Certification & Licensure:
- Required – Histology
- Preferred – ASCP
Education:
- Required – High School of Equivalent
- Preferred – Technical Degree in Histotechnology
- Preferred – Associates in Related Field
Experience:
- Preferred – 1 Year Laboratory Related
