Assist in the maintenance of all County and State Highways where assigned. Have working knowledge of operation of the following equipment: mower tractors, front end-loaders, motorgraders, chipper, chain saw, brush saws, various size trucks from pickup to quad-axle dump trucks. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Roadway maintenance and construction.• Roadside drainage operations.• Mowing and brushing operations.• Haul materials for maintenance and construction.• Plow snow and ice removal operations.• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of highway department buildings, grounds and equipment.• Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities• Knowledge of highway operations including the operation of mower tractors, front end-loaders, motorgraders, chipper, chain saws, brush saws, various size trucks from pickup to quad-axle dump trucks.• Must produce an accurate account of all materials used, time expended and machinery used in each area of work accomplished.• Must have knowledge of or ability to handle various manual tasks from pavement maintenance, roadside drainage, shoulder maintenance, and the operation of snow and ice removal equipment.. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees, agencies and the public..Knowledge of and experience using personal protective equipment and safety gear.
