SALARY RANGE: 91,457.60 - 141,752.00YEARLY
General Summary:
This position is responsible for overall operations of the Simulation Center and Skills Lab. This position involves budgetary oversight and supervision of technical support staff. The Simulation Lab Manager will collaborate with the various staff to develop educational and realistic simulation scenarios.
Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with faculty and other stakeholders to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate simulation-based educational opportunities (develop appropriate goals and objectives for each session, develop case scenarios to meet objectives and create evaluation tools to determine effectiveness of simulation training).
2. Assure educational programs are following standards set forth by the appropriate accrediting bodies (if applicable).
3. Provides training and serves as a resource for staff utilizing simulation equipment.
4. Responsible for set-up of all simulation sessions, including room environment, simulators, equipment, supplies, and any necessary moulage of patient simulators or standardized patients.
5. Conduct simulation sessions for learners, as required. Additionally, will provide pre-briefing and de-briefing sessions as needed.
6. Responsible for breakdown after simulation sessions, returning rooms, simulators and equipment to previous states.
7. Conduct routine equipment and simulator maintenance base on vendor guidelines and recommendations.
8. Work with Information Technology to maintain digital AV hardware and software systems.
9. Develops technical proficiency with all aspects of the operation, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, and repair of all simulation center and associated equipment.
10. Maintain proficiency in existing and emergency technologies, participate in training, and attend conference for professional development and continuing education.
11. Monitors, inventories and procures supplies on a regular basis.
12. Provides oversight to Simulation Lab Schedule.
13. Monitors and maintains Bayhealth and OSHA safety guidelines.
14. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor Degree
; Nursing
; - Credential(s): CHSOS within 24 months of hire if not already obtained
; Or Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) - Experience:
Required: Minimum of five years of related work experience. Minimum of 2 years management or supervisory experience.
Preferred: Eight years of related work experience.
