What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Counselor position at Bayley Senior Care Corp?
Job Summary:
The Sales Counselor is responsible for working with prospects and leads to establish relationships and to manage the sales process to develop these leads into appointments/tours, and ultimately to obtain them as future residents and maintain occupancy and sales goals for Independent Living at Bayley at Green. Also responsible for assisting with internal and external marketing efforts and programs, assisting the Director of Marketing (or Marketing Advisor) in obtaining goals and objectives of the Marketing and Sales Plan.
Specific Task/Duties:
- Actively pursues prospects through work performed inside and out of the office including networking, holding visits and luncheons, telephone follow-up, prospecting etc.
- Plans and participates in sales presentations for office and in-home appointments.
- Meets with customers, discusses features of community and pre-qualifies customers for sale.
- Completes all sales and application paperwork and ensures that forms are completed thoroughly and accurately. Ensures that corrections are made quickly on any paperwork containing omissions or errors and resolves sales issues to expedite move-ins.
- Maintains accurate records on prospective customers. Submits reports regarding daily and weekly activities including appointments, prospecting and results.
Essential Functions:
- Works in an office environment
- Works beyond “normal business hours”, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
- Ability to make decisions and deal tactfully with all persons
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift and move adequately to complete required tours of campus
- Ability to review and analyze financial information from applicants
- Ability to interpret verbal instructions, answer phones, communicate effectively with residents, prospects, and their families with varying degrees of background noise
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Traits:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree and a working knowledge of sales practices and procedures.
- Requires prior direct sales experience, preferably in retirement housing industry, along with the application of this knowledge to sales activities such as sales presentations and customer prospecting.
