This role has classroom responsibility to provide a healthy children’s ministry and Christ-centered teaching for the children in our Bayou City Littles Ministry. This position manages the classroom, including schedule and organization of stories, crafts, play time, lessons, and childcare. This position may work during Sunday church services, or throughout the week to support Church activities.
- Provide quality childcare for children ages 2 months - 3 years on Sundays and up to 12 years of age for weekly childcare events.
- Ensure the kids experience the love of Christ and have fun at church.
- Be attentive to the children’s needs at all times including snacks, bathroom breaks, diaper changes, etc.
- Effectively manage the classroom.
- Communicate positively with volunteers and parents.
- Faithfully execute the curriculum.
- Follow all ministry policies and procedures in accordance with church safety policies.
- Coach and create community with volunteer teams serving in your classroom.
- Attend and participate in all required events and activities, including training, staff huddles and prayer time before shifts.
- Other duties as directed by supervisor.
qualifications and education requirements
- Experience caring for children
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a background check
- Must provide a weekly commitment
- Must be able to sign our Statement of Faith and provide a personal testimony of a relationship with Jesus Christ.
