What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Security Administrator position at Bayview Asset Management?
The IT Security Administrator completes tasks designed to ensure the security of the organization's systems and information assets. This position protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction while supporting control objectives to meet regulatory and contractual requirements. This position works with business and end-users to determine needs of individual departments, implements policies and procedures, and support compliance throughout the organization. Must be able to perform a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. This position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks and goals. The IT Security Administrator performs a variety of tasks and must be able to work independently with minimal guidance.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on security systems management and support for MFA, Next Gen AV, email gateways, basic firewall administration, network access control and other systems.
- Provide level one and two for security systems affecting the end user.
- Document and maintain IT Security ops manuals and procedures.
- Any additional tasks required to support IT control objectives, business objectives, IT projects, and others.
- Secondary Responsibilities
- Hands-on and coordination (where appropriate) of remedial measures for security events, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
- Coordinate/escalate technical resources to support network security incident handling for virus outbreaks, etc.
- Generate regular and ad hoc system status reports on security tools.
- Keep abreast of industry security trends and current network threat profiles.
- Support / coordinate troubleshooting efforts with Engineering and the business if necessary
- Provide back-up / support for business continuity service
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience as an application administrator, desktop administrator, or other IT administration.
- Familiarity with networking, endpoint management, and general troubleshooting.
- Experience with administration of enterprise security solutions such as malware protection or other solutions
- Strong trouble-shooting and research skills.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Experience with Windows, Linux, and other operating systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of configuration and management of firewall technologies.
- Experience with endpoint protection, encryption (disk, endpoint, media, etc.), event monitoring and correlation, vulnerability management, etc. are a plus
- Have a structured approach for managing responsibilities.
- General Knowledge and Skills Desired:
- Familiarity with financial services regulations and control documentation requirements.
- Broad understanding of current information security technologies, security industry trends, etc.
- Quick learner, adaptable, flexible, customer service oriented, a team player, and always closes the loop with the customer.
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration
- Technical certifications in the IT/IT Security disciplines are a plus.
