BC Forward is looking for Claims Adjuster - Workers Compensation (Remote)

Job Title: Claims Adjuster - Workers Compensation (Remote)
Location: 117 West 5th Street, Bartlesville, OK 74003
Anticipated Start Date: 01/13
Job Type: 2 Months Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $45.00/hr. (on W2)

Need: 3 plus years of WC claims handling experience in multiple Southeastern states. Only workers compensation experience, no other lines of business considered

Job Description:
Job Title: Workers' Compensation Claims Analyst
Primary Purpose:
To analyze and manage mid- and higher-level workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices. The role involves determining benefits due, adjudicating claims, identifying subrogation opportunities, and negotiating settlements to achieve optimal claim resolutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Claims Management:
  • Assess workers' compensation claims for compensability and benefits eligibility, focusing on long-term indemnity claims.
  • Monitor and adjust claim reserves to maintain accuracy, filing necessary documentation with state agencies.
  • Develop and execute action plans to resolve claims efficiently, including coordination of return-to-work efforts and processing claim payments.
Subrogation & Settlements:
  • Identify subrogation opportunities and negotiate settlements to maximize recoveries.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure proper documentation of claim files and accuracy in claims coding.
  • Process complex claims such as lifetime medical or defined-period medical claims, including state filings and utilization review for recommended treatments.
Communication & Relationship Management:
  • Communicate claim actions with claimants and clients professionally and effectively.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide superior customer service.
Quality Support & Other Duties:
  • Support organizational quality programs and initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of workers' compensation claims handling experience across multiple Southeastern states required.
  • Only workers' compensation experience will be considered; other lines of business are not applicable.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation regulations, disability durations, medical management practices, and applicable Social Security/Medicare procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capability to meet or exceed service expectations consistently.

Work Environment:
  • Mental Requirements: Ability to think clearly, troubleshoot, analyze, and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Physical Requirements: Computer usage and occasional travel as needed.
  • Auditory/Visual Requirements: Clear vision, hearing, and effective communication skills.
Additional Information:
  • A background credit check is required for this position.
  • This position may transition from temporary to permanent, depending on performance and business needs.
