Position Purpose:
We are a metal manufacturing company with over 80 years of experience in the industry. Our commitment to innovation has helped us to continue to expand through these challenging times. This role will report to the department Supervisor and support our growing manufacturing team as we navigate the exciting opportunities ahead.
Schedule:
- First shift is scheduled from 5:00am – 3:30pm
- Second shift is scheduled from 1:00pm - 9:30pm
- Third shift schedule is from 6:30pm – 5:00am, week starts on Sunday night
- Overtime and schedules on any shift may vary on occasion to meet the needs of the department.
Job Skills / Education Required:
- Must be at least 18 years.
- HS Diploma/GED not required
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. with assistance
- Familiarity with the use of pneumatic tools is a bonus
- Ability to follow work instructions
- Aptitude for learning – Quick learner
GRINDER - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle, inspect and grind castings according to instructions
- Make sure both good and scrap castings are placed in proper containers
- Identify casting defects and report defects to supervisor or lead
- Complete forms required for position
- Other miscellaneous work as assigned
Machine Operator/ Core Makers - Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Follow process to set up and operate core processing machines
- Use lifting devices to install and secure core box on machine prior to operation
- Follow orders to ensure proper quantities and quality specifications
- Core processing may require use of hot glue guns, files, paint brushes, or hand tools
- Stack completed cores onto pallets or racks as specified
- Maintain a clean work area
- Identify and report defects to supervisor or lead
- Complete forms and tags as required for position
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Movement of more than 75% of the time is in a standing position may be required, as well using hands/fingers, reaching, stooping, bending, or crouching. Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Works around moving mechanical parts and in conditions with heat. Noise level may be loud at times.
