Machine Operator 3

Job Overview
Is multi-skilled in an operational process. Has thorough skills and techniques in multiple skill areas. Applies knowledge and skills to complete a variety of assignments. May act as a source of technical expertise for others. Works within a defined process and may help determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Works with a minimal degree of supervision and limited discretion.

Responsibilities and Duties
o Manually packages kits
o Performs cleaning functions
o Tests / Inspects parts for in-process quality checks
o Trains others
o Accurately completes paperwork
o Pulls raw material for order
o Feeds raw material on production line
o Clears common machine faults independently
o Performs set up and start up tasks for the machine independently
o Performs shut down tasks for the machine independently
o Offers input for Standard Operating Procedures
o Performs controls and adjustments for machine settings independently
o Performs some Preventative Maintenance tasks
o Demonstrates the ability to follow and document in established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
o Works on multiple cell lines
o Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
o Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures
o Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
o Perform other duties as required

Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience:
o High school degree
o 3 year manufacturing experience

Minimum Requirements:
o Ability to stand for long periods of time
o Ability to lift 40 lbs
o Ability to do repetitive motion

Basic Skills:
o Can effectively work in a team setting and communicate successfully across the department
o Strong attention to detail
o Ability to work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specification

Proficient/Working Skills:
o Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment is required
