Position: Site Coordinator

Position Overview: The Site Coordinator will assist in the implementation of the Mentors for California Rural Youth program at assigned locations. This role involves coordinating mentoring activities, engaging with community partners, and ensuring that mentoring services are delivered effectively. Site Coordinators will be employed by Be A Mentor (BAM) and will work approximately 20 hours per week at designated Police Activity League (PAL) sites. They will play a key role in recruiting youth, attending group mentoring sessions, and assisting with mentor recruitment. Additionally, they will help facilitate group mentoring sessions and drug prevention curriculum during the grant period to gain experience in the role of a Project Coordinator. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and adaptable, with strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Mentor and Mentee Support:
- Recruit and assist in onboarding youth participants.
- Provide guidance and resources to mentors to enhance their impact.
- Address any concerns and provide ongoing support to mentees and their families.
Program Implementation:
- Attend and assist with facilitating group mentoring sessions.
- Support the implementation of drug prevention curriculum.
- Work closely with project coordinators from the California National Guard and local stakeholders to execute mentoring initiatives.
Community Engagement:
- Work with CA National Guard to build relationships with local schools, law enforcement, and community organizations.
- Engage with families to encourage participation and ensure support networks for mentees.
- Promote awareness of the program within the community.
Training and Support:
- Assist in training mentors and on trauma-informed practices, substance misuse prevention, and youth development.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of mentor-mentee interactions using the Volunteer Management System (VMS).
- Track program outcomes and report progress to the Program Manager.
- Assist with evaluations and ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Experience working with youth, mentoring programs, or community-based initiatives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with mentors, mentees, families, and local stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort using technology, including databases and virtual meeting platforms.
- Reliable transportation.
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
Pay Rate:
- $18/Hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week. Flexible days.
