The Role:
As a Data Administrator you will:
- Database Management: Administer and maintain database systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.
- Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption to operations.
- Data Security: Implement robust security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Data Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery plans to safeguard data against loss or corruption.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize efficiency and speed.
- User Support: Provide support and guidance to users regarding data access and management, resolving any issues that arise.
- Data Integration: Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate new data sources and support data warehousing initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and policies to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Compliance: Ensure that all data management practices comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve data management workflows.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in data administration or a similar role, with a strong background in database management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Scripting: Experience with scripting languages like SQL, Python, or PowerShell for database automation.
