What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trust & Estates Legal Assistant position at Beacon Hill?
Renowned law firm is actively looking for a sharp Legal Assistant to join its sophisticated Trust & Estates practice. This is a perfect position for a resourceful self-starter to pro-actively collaborate with members of the firm to support the continued success and efforts of the group.
Responsibilities:
- Take initiative to proactively assist with administrative tasks, including calendaring, coordinating meeting logistics, reserving conference rooms, conflict checks, communication, correspondence, drafting, formatting and proofreading legal documents, letters and memos
- Assist with the preparation of trust and estate plan signings
- Assist in maintaining electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring documents are organized and easily accessible
- Assist with collection of estate assets, assembling of estate tax binders and filing of tax returns
- Assist with the preparation of all routine probate court filings and with the maintenance of the probate court docket
- Maintain familiarity with legal terminology, state and federal court filing rules, basic legal procedure and knowledge of legal document formats such as contracts, agreements, briefs, summonses, complaints, and motions
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree preferred, but not required
- Prior proven experience within a Private Client or Trust & Estates group
- Expertise in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Experience in managing multiple competing projects while meeting set deadlines
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
