The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations for both U.S. and Canadian employees. This is a working manager position, with the payroll manager having primary responsibility for producing a semi-monthly payroll for approximately 1000 employees. Additional supervisory duties will be added as the payroll staff increases; the company is on track to reach 2000 employees through periodic acquisition over the next two years.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- 5+ years of related experience required.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must be proficient with payroll software.
- Experience processing Canadian payroll required.
- Experience with Paycom HRIS a plus.
- Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Background checks part of the hiring process, which may include a Motor Vehicle check.
