What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Civil Superintendent position at Beard Construction Group, LLC?
Beard Construction Group, LLC, is seeking a Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our team. This position will oversee all civil construction projects throughout Louisiana and Texas. As a Heavy Civil Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. The superintendent is primarily responsible for ensuring accurate and top-quality work while keeping resources on schedule and within scope. This position will report to the Construction Manager and Project Manager (where specified).
ROLE OVERVIEW
- Supervise the total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed according to design, budget, and schedule. This includes interfacing with client representatives, other contractors, etc.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of on-site administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.
- Supervise craft employees and other contractors as required by the contract.
- May authorize and approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
- Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
- Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
- Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc., document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
- Assume responsibility for the productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
- Perform additional assignments per the Supervisor’s direction.

Candidates must meet or exceed the below requirements:
- 10 Years Minimal Experience as a Heavy Civil Superintendent Experience
- Major Projects Superintendent Experience
- Industrial Client Experience in the Gulf South Region
- Valid TWIC Card and Valid OSHA
- Pass Company Comprehensive Safety Training
- Must know safety rules and regulations and learn client and company policies
- Must pass background and drug screenings
