Job Definition:
The Belt Technician will perform a variety of duties to customize heavy duty belts and rubber components to customer specifications. The belt technician is also responsible for assisting with warehouse functions such as shipping and receiving, stock takes, deliveries and pickups.
Responsibilites:
1. Build & repair belts and rubber components
2. Install and vulcanize lightweight and heavyweight belts
3. Working with team to perform conveyor belt installations at client sites
4. Responsible for pulling orders from warehouse stock for shipment to BDI customers and branches
5. Responsible for packing, shipping, and receiving orders from and to BDI customers, suppliers, and branches
6. Expected to replenish branch inventory when shipments arrive from BDI Suppliers
7. Expected to perform stock takes to accurately track branch inventory
8. Will deliver and pick up shipments from BDI customers and suppliers
9. Observe safety regulations for working in the warehouse and belt shop
10. Responsible for other duties as they are assigned
Travel Requirements:
This position requires occasional overnight travel to complete jobs for customers, at most 5 days per month. Transportation/lodging is covered by the company.
Education/ Experience
- H.S. Diploma or GED preferred.
- Working product knowledge of bearings and power transmission products a plus.
- Must possess good mathematical skills with some mechanical aptitude
- Ability to bend and lift heavy objects (frequently being over 25 pounds and occasionally topping 50 pounds in weight.)
