Under the direction of the Director of High School Programs, this position is responsible for providing college liaison services to assigned Tyrrell County Schools. Position involves cooperating with other college liaisons to coordinate early college schedules and support services at all ECHS sites.

Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience:
Preferred: Preferred Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in counseling, education, or other related field.
Experience teaching and advising in a college setting required.
Experience working with high school students, parents and school officials.
SKILLS:
Preferred: Ability to work as a team member. Attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy in record keeping.

Essential Duties
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Travel to assigned ECHS a minimum of 1 day per week
- Coordinate courses delivered via the NCIH to assigned schools
- Coordinate placement testing, course scheduling, registration, and book orders for assigned school students
- Serve as the College’s advocate for the development and support of dual-enrollment high school programs that include Career and College Promise and Early College High Schools.
- Work with students, parents, and school counselors to coordinate education and career goals for ECHS students (occasional evening work required). Serve as the student advisor
- Provide support for ECHS students taking classes on the BCCC main campus
- Assist with parent meetings and recruitment efforts in assigned County
Skills and Abilities
- Possess excellent skills for planning, organizing, and implementing new initiatives.
- Ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain positive/collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, peers, etc.
- Effective communication skills (written and oral) in a variety of settings with people from diverse backgrounds, educational levels, and age groups
- Working knowledge of MS Office and relevant applications, and internet platforms.
- Possess a working knowledge of secondary and postsecondary education
- Independently perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects
- Ability to foster a collaborative team-based work environment with a willingness to see tasks through to completion
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve on committees and complete tasks as assigned.
- Carry out duties in a professional, ethical and collegial manner that enhances the purpose of the college.
- Exhibit an understanding of the “open door” philosophy of BCCC.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor.
- Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner.
- Comply with the college’s policies and procedures.

$54,000 - $62,000 Based on the College’s salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
