2nd Shift QC Technician II (Bulk)
Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician II (Bulk) is responsible for helping to facilitate the department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while focusing on the physiochemical testing and release of bulks and some Finished Goods to ensure they meet the high quality standards set by management and customers. They work cross-functionally with Production, Manufacturing, and Scheduling to ensure that specifications are being met. They must be detail-oriented, and are responsible for the day-to-day incoming bulk testing releases to ensure all customer and regulatory requirements are met. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and the ability to ensure that quality requirements are fulfilled as required.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Ensure SOPs are followed to meet and exceed quality standards set forth in specifications.
- Ensure the team maintains the highest levels of safety to build an environment where the team’s well-being is a top priority.
- Track and monitor department KPIs to ensure that items are being released in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate and communicate with upper management and Operations.
- Have a full understanding of the QC Bulk Technician I job responsibilities and be a mentor/trainer for any QC Bulk Technician I positions.
- Perform testing and release of bulk materials in a highly-regulated environment.
- Document all results and report all non-conformances to specifications or standards.
- Generate GMP-compliant records as required by SOPs, methods, or regulations.
- Ensure GDP is followed on all applicable documentation.
- Support the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans.
- Own and lead special projects as assigned.
- Perform all other assigned duties as required by Quality Management.
Qualifications
Technical Skills Required
- Detail oriented.
- Good verbal and written communication and basic computer literacy (MS Office) required.
- Good math proficiency and good color vision.
- Organized and analytical.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including overtime, second shift, and weekend shifts.
Experience Required
- 2 or more years prior work experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), food, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industry (can be substituted with education or applicable certifications).
- Experience inspecting and testing in a cGMP environment.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit, balance, climb, stand, bend, squat, squeeze, kneel, turn, crouch, stoop repeatedly.
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
- Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, heavy machinery, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, and vibrations.
- Periodic use of computer screen.
