Avionics Technician Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as an Avionics Technician. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic systems and equipment on aircraft.
Our team works within a fast-paced environment, collaborating with engineers, inspectors, and other production teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of fixed-wing aircraft, fabricate, route, and terminate avionics systems wire harnesses, install components, and perform hands-on integration of navigation, communication, and surveillance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, route, and terminate avionics systems wire harnesses and install components in a variety of fixed-wing aircraft.
- Perform hands-on integration of navigation, communication, and surveillance systems.
- Conduct system power-ups, functional tests, and troubleshooting of avionics systems post-installation.
- Modify aircraft instrument panels, racks, and structures to accommodate new avionics equipment.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Remove existing avionics systems and prepare aircraft for new installations.
- Ensure compliance with all STCs, service bulletins, technical manuals, and FAA regulations during installation projects.
- Document all work performed using appropriate maintenance tracking systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Three years of experience maintaining aircraft avionics systems.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license and passport.
- The ability to obtain an FAA Repairmen Certificate or a valid A&P License.
- Prior experience working in a 145 repair station is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and aircraft maintenance tracking software.
- The ability to lift equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
