Job Opportunity: Diesel Mechanic Helper

Job Overview:

• The primary responsibility of the Diesel Mechanic Helper is to provide technical assistance in diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, replacing, adjusting and modifying company vehicles and equipment.
• This role involves performing road service and preventative maintenance duties in accordance with standard accepted methods and practices in emergency and non-emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review work schedules, conduct safety checks on equipment, obtain necessary supplies and prepare for operations.
2. Assist in conducting regular scheduled tractor inspections, complete checklists, troubleshoot and make routine repairs as required.
3. Perform major repair work on tractors and trailers, disassemble, remove, repair or replace defective parts or components of gas or diesel engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, ignition, electrical and hydraulic systems, air conditioning, refrigeration controls and units, clutches, brakes and mechanical or electrical operating units.
4. Operate electric arc welding equipment to repair ramps, ladders and tripods, repair or construct new cargo bars.
5. Perform other similar or related tasks as assigned or directed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience 6-12 months; interpret data requiring advanced skills knowledge equivalent to 6-12 months training in truck/automotive maintenance.

Salary : $40,000 - $66,000
