Job Overview
This position involves serving as caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
- Provide assistance with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
- Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for residents.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Assist providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Previous clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is also preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement, is mandatory.
- Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits for each year are also essential.
Salary : $42,000 - $65,000
