Patient Experience Specialist
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Experience Specialist to join our clinical team. This role is responsible for creating excellent patient experiences and driving administrative excellence inside the clinic.
The ideal candidate will have two to three years of related experience and/or training, and an associate degree in healthcare administration or a related field of study. They will be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, collecting co-pays, and accurately relaying insurance benefit information.
Key responsibilities include:
- Retrieving daily messages from the answering machine and updating schedules accordingly
- Greeting and directing patients, vendors, and visitors
- Ensuring new patients complete necessary paperwork and organizing patient charts
- Answering multiple-line telephone system and obtaining demographic and insurance information
- Collecting co-payments and documenting payment transactions
- Managing patient appointments and cancellations, reviewing therapist schedules, and filling openings through the medical records system
- Assisting therapists with faxing patient information to medical offices as requested
- Maintaining a general understanding of insurances and explaining benefit details to patients
- Initiating collection activity in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Negotiating payment terms with customers and reviewing essential reporting and dashboards
