Job Summary
This instructional designer is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of training materials for both department and company-wide training programs to support business needs. The instructional designer will partner with cross-functional subject matter experts to determine key learning objectives, and then design and develop engaging content using multiple facets of training media including videos, job aids, workbooks, and instructor-led training, whether in-person or virtual, which supports knowledge retention and application of skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Consult with subject matter experts to define learning objectives for course content and training curricula using various tools and resources.
- Design and develop creative programs and maintain the training content including archiving materials according to company policy and retention guidelines.
- Monitors and assesses training curriculums and courses by observing, auditing, and reviewing survey feedback to measure learning success, and then refresh content on a periodic and regular basis.
- House and maintain learning materials within the Learning Management System.
- Manage and evaluate the software and collaboration tools to be used for training.
- Manage web-based development suppliers and other vendors, as applicable.
- Cross-train and backup the Technical Training Project Manager.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Graphic Design or related field from an accredited college or university and 4 years of. instructional design experience with graphic and visual design skills and course authoring software.
- Twelve (12) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Experience in implementing and delivering effective training programs using adult-learning principals.
- Experience facilitating courses of various sizes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
