Position: Dietary Assistant Part Time
Location: Bedford Care Center of Newton
Job Summary:
Assists with all Dietary operations, including food preparation, cooking, serving meals, cleaning kitchen and dishwashing
Qualifications:
Some experience in large-scale cooking services is preferred; on-the-job training is provided; must be able to read and write at a level necessary to accomplish job duties; must be able to pass drug screen and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with checking in groceries, other supplies, storing food, other duties as instructed
- Assists in the preparation, set ups and serving meals, snacks, drinks and loading food carts
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, utensils, dishwashing area and any other areas in the Dietary Department or Dining Rooms as needed
- Assists in checking food trays for menu and diet accuracy and for Resident’s preferences
- Assists with proper storage of foods and supplies and communication regarding food and supplies availability
- Assists with cooking, operating dishwasher or other duties as requested and/or assigned
- Delivers food carts to Nursing Stations for service of meals
