Key Responsibilities:
- Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment.
- Request Prelien information on large projects and keep track of billing.
- Process project waivers as needed.
- Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans.
- Confirm tax documents and upload to system.
- Follow up for payment on NSF checks and obtain replacement.
- Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks.
- Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Answer incoming phone calls.
- Prepare reports to include delinquent customers.
- Prepare reports to include short paid invoices and reason.
- Mail past due customers and escalate.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports as directed.
- Process lien waivers.
- Administer Lien Writer.
- Any other duties required of the position
Qualifications:
- 2 years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable.
- Account reconciliation experience.
- General ledger experience.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement.
- Knowledgeable of ERP systems.
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field strongly desired but not required.
- Established analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations and remain calm under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with collection software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
