Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Contract Administrator located in Houston, TX. The Contract Administrator will be responsible for managing and overseeing contracts, handling contract negotiations, and coordinating procurement activities.
Day-to-day tasks includes:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating contracts, analyzing contract terms and conditions, overseeing the end-to-end execution of dry bulk shipments
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, surveyors, and logistics providers
- Manage contracts and documentations, Letter of Credits, vessel nominations, laytime calculations, and demurrage settlements
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, shipping documentation, and regulatory requirements
- Handle import/export Letters of Credit, ensuring accuracy in documentation and timely submissions
- Monitor cargo movements and proactively address operational challenges
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in trading operations, with experience with import/export Letters of Credit
- Dry bulk commodity experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of shipping contracts (C/P, Laytime and Demurrage analysis)
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, Incoterms, and LC documentation requirements
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple shipments efficiently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant trade operation software
- Fluent in English
