Overview
Beebe Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Educator to lead the educational and professional development initiatives within our ICU/CT ICU and PCU. This pivotal role operates independently under the direction of the Clinical Professional Development Nurse Manager and Director, as you assess the clinical learning needs of staff and develop evidence‑based education plans.
As Beebe proudly announces the launch of its Comprehensive Cardiovascular Institute, this position offers a unique opportunity to help shape and support advanced cardiovascular care education within a growing and innovative health system. You will coordinate and deliver both didactic and clinical orientation and continuing education for nursing staff in the PCU and ICU, support and mentor preceptors, and collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to promote exceptional patient outcomes.
With advanced clinical expertise and strong communication skills, you’ll ensure our teams remain at the forefront of critical care and cardiovascular nursing practice—empowering them to deliver the highest standard of care to our community.
Responsibilities
- Design & Deliver Comprehensive Orientation
- Provide both theoretical and hands‑on clinical orientation to new Intensive Care (ICU) and Progressive Care (PCU) staff to ensure seamless integration into the team.
- Preceptor Program Development & Mentorship
- Implement and evaluate a robust preceptor development program.
- Mentor and support preceptors in fulfilling orientation goals.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to select, evaluate, and coach new preceptors.
- Ongoing Professional Education
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct continuing education—including ACLS, PALS, CCRN, and other certification programs—to ensure high competency levels among staff.
- Custom Unit-Based Education Planning
- Create and execute targeted education plans tailored to the specific learning needs of assigned clinical areas.
- Evidence-Based Practice & Quality Improvement
- Ensure nursing practice aligns with the latest evidence-based standards.
- Promote discussion and application of best-practice information at multidisciplinary meetings.
- Partner with ICU/PCU leadership to identify educational priorities and implement strategies that improve patient care quality and safety.
- Collaborative Leadership & Shared Governance
- Actively support shared governance principles in daily routines and institutional forums.
- Participate in department- and division-level performance improvement plans.
- Work alongside Nurse Managers/Directors to identify and resolve continuity-of-care issues.
- Multidisciplinary & Community Engagement
- Serve as a resource and liaison for other departments and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate on house wide programs for preceptor mentorship.
- Support unit-based and system-wide RN Residency and support-staff training initiatives.

- Demonstrate clinical expertise and provide constructive, respectful, and timely feedback—both verbal and written—regarding clinical and administrative performance.

Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in emergency nursing, with at least 1 year in a leadership or educational role.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Education preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in electronic health records and educational technologies.
